VIRTUAL CEMETERY WALK
September 10, 2023
This year we will be doing our Cemetery Walk program very differently. Instead of choosing just one cemetery, we will be visiting several - Virtually!
There are many small, isolated, hard to find cemeteries in Iroquois County. So many of these have no parking area or are on private property, are very small, and yet contain ancestors of many of our families.
With these facts in mind, we have decided to hold a Virtual Cemetery Walk. This will be held September 10th at 1:00p.m. in the court room of the Old Courthouse Museum, rain or shine. $5 donation is suggested.
After much discussion it was decided to begin with "out of the way" cemeteries in the Milford area. Cemeteries and residents to speak about have not been completely decided, but we know that secrets will be made known and you will learn much.
Mark your calendars - watch our web site for details,
If this is well received, we will move to another corner of the county and find more hidden cemeteries to talk about.

| Info about this 19th century cemetery: In summer of 1968, work was done to recover this lost and uncared for cemetery. As it appeared impossible to maintain individual graves and many markers had apparently disappeared over the years, the markers were gathered up and are preserved in this memorial. The area is now a mini-park dedicated to the memory of those resting here who were among the first to settle this portion of Illinois. Memorial list (picture included) has a list of around 150 people buried here.
